cimice asiatica

Throughout Northern Italy, from 2012, has spread this phytophagous insect that in these areas haven't antagonistic in nature and can thus proliferate undisturbed.
The Asian bug (Halyomorpha halys) is easily distinguishable from the green one for the variegated color from grayish-brown tones and, unlike it, is particularly damaging to fruit trees such as peach, apple, pear, kiwi and field crops such as corn and soybeans; are certified damages of this insect even on peppers and strawberries.
The main problem is the ineffectiveness of chemical defense, because of the long period that this insect spends in orchards. The only effective way is characterized by anti-insect nets and mechanical struggle when Asian bugs are holed in homes and crannies to shelter from the cold.
