The pumps for the transfer of water, wine or other liquids, or those for irrigation can be really useful, and, in many circumstances, simplify not few the job.
For all those who are not self-priming pumps, it must follow a series of measures that make work easier.
First, at the start must fill with liquid the delivery tube to prevent the pump runs freely and burning.
You can also add a non-return valve or check valve, which is placed at the end of the suction tube. This avoids the spillage of the liquid and, therefore, of having to fill the delivery pipe every time the pump is stopped.
After each transfer, with the exception of the one with clean water, it should be thoroughly rinse the pump to prevent furring.
