On March 15 in Sorrento were announced the winners of the 15th edition of Sirena d'Oro Prize, which sees competing the best italian farms producers of extra virgin olive oil 2016/17.
The farm Masciantonio of Casoli (CH) won the coveted aword in the DOP category, followed by farms Di Russo of Gaeta (LT) and Iannotta of Sonnino (LT).
The Bio category, however, saw the winner farm Sole di Cajani of Caggiano (SA), followed by Quattrociocchi of Alatri (FR) and Frantoio Franci of Montenero (GR).
It's an event that aims to raise awareness of the national extravirgin excellence, not only in Italian field, but internationally. A firm response to indiscriminate import of low-quality oils that invade increasingly the market.
