DROUGHT ALERT IN OLIVE GROVES

The 2017 olive-collection campaign risks to be seriously compromised by the severe drought that is affecting our peninsula.
From north to south the situation is critical, but there are areas in Campania and Calabria where it doesn't even rain from October as reported by Luigi Canino, Unasco President (National Union of Olive Producers). The olive groves are suffering, and after the extraordinary spring bloom that hoped for a positive campaign, the situation soon rushed.
This circumstance is creating the ideal ground for fires, which risk decimating not only the crop but the whole olive groves, which represent a heritage for Italian olive excellence.
