I siti archeologici presi in esame per lo studio

The archaeoligical sites taken into consideration for the study

A study published in the scientific journal PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America) reveals a remarkably unexpected agricultural tecnique in use among European civilization of the Neolithic.
According to these studies, the Europeans of 8000 years ago were very dedicated to agriculture and practiced it successfully; this requires a great attachment to land and the need of settled communities.
The stone age farmers practiced fertilizing soil with manure thousands of years earlier than previously thought. This allowed them to exploit the same plot for several years, without having to move in search of fertile fields. The fact of remain for a long time in a same place, preserving the fertility of land and pass it down to future generations is a concept rather advanced, unexpected and evolved than previously thought, which again demonstrates the importance of agriculture in life and in human evolution.
