During the month of August, due to the strong heat it's advisable to concentrate mainly on the irrigation of the garden and vegetable plants. The best method is certainly the use of micro-irrigation or drip irrigation, which allows to water effectively, minimising waste and evaporation. The most suitable times for irrigation are early in the morning or evening for the vegetable garden, only early in the morning for the lawn, as an evening irrigation would favour the formation of moulds in the felt layer.
During this period it's possible to harvest potatoes and onions in the waning moon and start sowing the autumn vegetables.
It's also advisable to arrange traps to monitor the presence of oil fly and prepare for the grape harvest.
