Especially in the warmer months the lawn irrigation is an extremely delicate operation to be performed with care and attention. It is'nt advisable to water lawn in the evening to avoid leaving the grass wet for too long, giving rise to the formation of mold. The time most suitable for lawn irrigation in summer is early in the day with important volumes of water (30-35 mm) to intervals about 5 day.
In the case of African temperatures, if we notice a certain suffering of our grass due to excessive heat, we can resort to the so-called "syringing", a technique much used on golf courses.
It's a cooling that must be made during the hottest hours of the day, in 2-3 very short cycles every 2 hours with a minimum amount of water (about 2-3 mm). This operation is'nt a true and proper irrigation because in a few minutes the water evaporates, and it has the only function to lower the temperature on the grass.
