fiore feijoa

The Brazil guaiabo, alsa called sellowian feijoa or acca is an evergreen shrub native to South America that is well suited to areas with a mild climate and is resistant even to a few degrees below zero. For this reason it can be grown easily in the garden or in vase, without the need for many treatments.
During the summer it is characterized by a showy flowering, with medium-sized flowers are characterized by white fleshy petals and long red stamens in the center.

The fruits are ovoid, green and usually are eaten with a spoon, after cutting the fruit in half. The collection can be carried out between October and November, when the fruits give off an exotic fragrance, reminiscent of kiwi or pineapple.
