July is the seventh month of the year and the second month of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
In the roman calendar of Romulus this month was called Quintile, subsequently by order of Marco Antonio, it was changed to the present in honor of Giulio Cesare, who was born precisely this month, 12 or 13 depending on the sources.
It is generally one of the hottest months of the year, but past the Summer Solstice in June, the days will gradually turn short.
