macchia mediterranea

More and more frequently, due to the limited availability of water, is used to design smart "garden", designed on the climatic characteristics of the territory.
From the concept of xeriscaping (arid landscape design), in areas of the Mediterranean basin characterized by low precipitation, mostly winter, tends to exploit the natural propensity of the area and encourage the spread of Mediterranean scrub.
This particular ecosystem is characterized by a high vegetation consisting of oak, fillirea, arbutus, juniper, laurel, heather and lentisk. The major spread is relative to the low scrub made of shrubbery and bushes such as rosemary, lavender, broom, euphorbia, cyst, myrtle, capper, honeysuckle and oleander. These plant species are characterized by a total or partial overflow phenomenon, a vegetative stasis that allows to deal with periods of increased drought.
