In 1935 Alfred Kärcher founded his company in Stuttgart, where he began to design and manufacture of industrial heating systems. One of the most important patents of Alfred Kärcher was the “salt bath furnace” to work on steel and metal alloys in the industrial field.

In 1939 the company moved to Winnenden, where it’s still located Headquarters. At that time produced mainly pre-heating burners for engines and cabin heaters. But after the Second World War, the production was oriented on everyday products such as stoves, carts and tractor trailers.
In 1950, with the invention of the first hot pressure washer in Europe, Kärcher officially entered in the cleaning market. The intuition of adding a boiler to heat water to an existing machine had been so innovative that still continues to be applied and developed in modern equipment.
Today, Kärcher has subsidiaries in 45 countries and more than 50,000 service centers that provide interventions around the world, in the name of absolute efficiency and produces abroad about 85% of its turnover.Sede dell'azienda a Winnenden nel 1940
