Fertigation is a practice that is spreading more and more for the important benefits that entails. It is the distribution of fertilizers dissolved in the irrigation water and then drastically decreases the work of distribution plant to plant of the fertilizer in solid form. This technique requires a small initial investment for the irrigation system and the blending device of fertilizer, but ensures better absorption of nutrients, limits to a minimum the entry in the field, avoiding the trampling of plants and requires little labor effort, only for maintenance and cleaning the irrigation system.
One of the most economical systems for fertigation is the so-called "Venturi tube”, an injector that exploits the physical phenomenon known as Venturi effect, so that the pressure of a fluid current increases with decreasing speed. Although not very accurate, compared to computerized dosing and mixers, the Venturi tube remains the most economic, efficient and valuable tool for fertigation in field crops.
