galline

In summer laying hens naturally decrease production to suspend it completely between late summer and early autumn, to coincide with the plumage moult.
Every two to three years should replace the hens, now at the end of their laying careers with youngest and most productive chicks born the previous spring.
In this situation it would be a good idea to carry out a thorough cleaning, maybe with the help of a pressure washer, and disinfect the poultry house with specific products to prevent infestations of red mites. After a period of sanitary vacuum, you must create a new litter layer, after which it is possible to introduce new pullets.
