In recent years technology has made significant progress, particularly for mini-remotely operated vehicles, which have important applications especially in military field.
Also developed for leisure use, drones are gaining ground in precision farming. In fact, different types of use have been developed: from spraying to biological control, crop monitoring, analysis and planning of interventions to be carried out in the crop.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can be equipped with sophisticated software that can detect the degree of soil moisture, mapping the cultivation of plants according to the vegetative vigor, detect anomalies due to diseases or insects, and so on.
The precision farming with drones is taking hold in particular as regards the cultivation of corn and tomatoes, and is gaining ground in viticulture, which is set to become an important ally.
